Air Dispersion Modeling

We are leaders in air dispersion modeling, with professionals with vast experience in environmental modeling and evaluation, always seeking to use the latest technology available to deliver better and more accurate results to our clients.
At DFM Consultores, we get the meteorological modeling data using using the research and weather forecast model (WRF) on our servers specially prepared for this task, to later use it as an input for dispersion modelling, which is mainly done using the software CALPUFF, to comply with the guidelines established in the “Guide for the Use of Air Quality Models in SEIA”, from the Environmental Assessment Service of Chile. If required, we also carry out photochemical modelling with WRF-CHEM or CAMx, complying with the requirements of the Environmental Authority.

Meteorological Modeling

We have the technical and computational capacity to use the Weather Research and Forcasting (WRF) atmospheric model, which is required as input information for air dispersion modeling to comply with the guidelines of the "Guide for the Use of Air Quality Models in SEIA", from the Environmental Assessment Service.

Odor Modeling

We provide odor modeling to assess its impact around the place of location of certain types of projects. For this we use CALPUFF, an internationally used model to carry out these tasks and accepted by the Environmental Authority for the evaluation of projects, following the guidelines established by the environmental evaluation service.

Emission Inventories

All projects need an estimation of their emissions to be evaluated. At DFM Consultores, we have experience developing detailed and accurate emission inventories for different type of projects, with its corresponding report as required by the Environmental Authority.

Air Quality Baseline

For the environmental assesment of the projects, it is necessary to know the current state of the area where they will be located. At DFM Consultores, we carry out air quality baselines using public available information, information provided by our clients or through measurements managed by us, according to the needs of each project.”

Emission Compensation Programs

We develop compensation programs by analyzing the available alternatives that are appropriate to the projects, considering different technical and economic variables, so that they satisfactorily comply with current environmental regulations. Emissions Reporting

Through the current legal regulations, the Health Authority requires to know who, where and how much is emitted from atmospheric pollutants that can produce effects on the population's health, and therefore identify the possible risks associated. At DFM Consultores we guide our clients through this technical process, in order to correctly report atmospheric emissions according to the RETC system of the Ministery of Environment”.
